As park of Learning Cities day 2022, we are having a ‘Sustainable Walk & Talk’ through our beautiful South Parish with Green Spaces for Health coordinator Maria Young,
this Thursday, September 29th.
Join Maria for a walk and talk through South Parish demonstrating what can be done to support wildlife and sustainability in the City Centre.
Starting at 1pm Sharp at the plaza outside cork city Hall this walk will take in a visit to Parkowen and Nano Nagle Place with information on what can be done to support wildlife in the city.
Find out about the bees on the roof of Cork College of FET, Hedgerows, flower beds for biodiversity, composting, bug hotels and community gardening.
Visit the tree nursery, a medicinal bed, a dye garden and discover what ‘Wilding’ is with information about the necklace of green sites stretching from the Lough to the City Hall.
We will be finishing up with a coffee and chat at the parklet outside Cork Flower Studio, who’ll share the story of how they made their business more sustainable.
